Picture this setting as you say those words: I’m in a hospital room visiting with a patient. Here’s the story:
I made a hospital visit today to see a church member who is recovering from surgery on a herniated disc. While there, I was mistaken for being a doctor not once, but twice! Two different nurses came into the room and asked me if I was the patient’s primary care physician. After the second time that I said “No, I’m a pastor,” I mentioned something about not being able to wait to tell others that I was mistaken for being a doctor. The nurse replied that she would rather be mistaken for being a pastor. In my mind I’m thinking, “I’d rather be a pastor, but get paid like a doctor!”
