Mourning

2

August 11, 2008 by Stephen

Yesterday morning Mark Zurovec, the youngest child and only son of our good friends Joe and Angie from our former church in McQueeney, passed away when the doctors removed him from the ventilator he had been on since he nearly drowned last Monday.  He was dressed in his favorite pajamas and held by his parents.  Please keep Joe and Angie and their three other children in your prayers as they go on from here, especially tomorrow evening during the viewing and Wednesday morning during the funeral.  You can read about everything here  I think you’ll be blessed in reading about the faith of Joe and Angie throughout the whole ordeal.

    Josh,

Thanks for asking about our friends. They are doing about as well as can be expected.

Here’s an email they sent out to their church family; I think you can get a sense of where they are from it:

    Dear Church Family,

Joe and I would like to tell you just how much we love and appreciate each and every one of you. You have been such a source of strength for us these past 3 weeks. God is using many of you in so many different ways to help us through this sorrow.

We rejoice that Mark is, at this very moment, in God’s presence. As parents, we want nothing more than for our children to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior. We only mourn for the temporary loss of him on this earth.

Each day is a testimony to God’s neverending grace and mercy poured out over us. Our prayer is that our hearts are filled with joy as each day brings us closer to heaven! Please continue to pray for our strength as often as you can…Satan tries over and over to make us live in the misery. It is, and will be, a constant struggle.

So, again, we thank you for all of the cards, for all of the donations made to the children’s ministry at the church, for each of you that came to the hospital to visit Mark, for each of you that brought food and for each and every one of you that prayed for Mark and now pray for us.

Even though we weren’t sure at first if we could handle all of the hugs without breaking down, please feel free to give us as many hugs and all of the love that you would like from now on!!!

    Love,
    Angie, Joe and the girls
