Travel Theme: Street Markets

Ailsa over at Where’s my backpack? has a new challenge for us: Street Markets. I don’t have any photos of ‘real’ street markets, but I do have some street market photos from my time as a Children’s Minister. As the Children’s Minister at my church, I took our children (3rd-6th Graders) to PASSPORTkids! Camp in the summer. Each year, one night was designated as ‘Night Market’ night. Here’s how they describe it:

If you traveled to Africa, Asia, or South America, you would likely visit a crowded, bustling marketplace.  PASSPORTkids! brings the market to camp!  Each year, we visit a new part of the world, with the staff playing roles that represent the breadth and diversity of that culture.  Authentic costumes and materials abound in an interactive event that has campers trying on exotic clothing, tasting unique foods, playing new games, and bartering for goods or activities along the way.

Hope you enjoy these ‘Street Market’ photos!
